Emerging talent from the Lecoq School bring Marx Brothers style physical comedy to The Blue Elephant Theatre

November 07, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
This Tom and Jerry style comedy was conceived and directed by Lecoq School graduate George Mann, Behind the Mirror is the debut production from the Theatre Ad Infinitum company. Utilising all the excitement of 'langage du geste' it’s a fast, energetic performance that’s packed full of comedy. Simplicity is at the core of the production as George Mann explains:

“My aim was to create something very simple, funny and touching. As there are no words, anything too complicated is incomprehensible in a language spoken using the body; this simple rule grounded the whole process and we have found a style that speaks across language barriers, a universality and humanity that our audience seem to really relate to.”

The Blue Elephant Theatre in Camberwell is the show’s home until Saturday 10th November and theatre critic Barry Grantham found his evening there 'hugely enjoyable', he commented:

"Where there are performers like Ad Infinitum to maintain an audience for mime and related physical theatre, the spirit of Marceau will not die".

Behind the Mirror offers a unique opportunity to see a new and rare type of physical theatre comedy performed by a dynamic company keen to offer the very best of their Parisian education to each and every audience member.
