PITTSBURGH, PA, - Sterling Advertising, a Pittsburgh advertising agency, has been named as one of the top 10 home based businesses in a national competition run by StartUp Nation.

Claire Devereux Thompson, principal of Sterling Advertising, entered the contest through a link found on a business website. “I was amazed at the quality of the competition in this contest, and I am truly flattered to have won.” She said. Sterling Advertising was placed in the top 10 in overall votes in the competition.
“Judging by the votes Claire Thompson's company got, it has the support of the Pittsburgh business community.” Said Rich Sloan of StartUp Nation.
Sterling Advertising was founded earlier this year by Claire Devereux Thompson, a London native who met and married a Pittsburgher and fell in love with this city full of cool neighborhoods and crooked streets. Claire previously worked as an advertising executive for multiple media outlets and always wanted to do more to help the businesses she worked with. “Advertising has been a passion of mine for a long time, and there were so many business owners who just needed some help and direction and they could be everything that they want to be. That’s what I’m doing now, and I love it!”

Sterling Advertising’s clients include Roomful Express, Eaton Corporation, Bariatric Weight Loss Centers, Wienand & Bagin Attorneys, CostumeFind.com, Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, Fair Housing Partnership of Greater Pittsburgh.
Claire Devereux Thompson is also the Vice President of Communication for the Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP).
