Register of Exercise Professionals to raise profile of compliance with online CPD

The web-based system, will offer REP members a means of recording and providing evidence of their CPD, as well as selecting endorsed/approved training providers. Cliff Collins, registrar of the REP explains, “At a basic level, the online CPD will provide a single platform for sharing information, keeping records and a means of reporting. This will improve efficiencies saving both time and money on administration.

“But the most important element is the message we hope to send out to the members; the onus is on the individual and the employer to keep skills up to date and provide the best level of service to their customers. From an organisational perspective, we see this as the first step to building a compliance mechanism for quality assurance in the industry. And we hope that the CPD will provide a structure and direction for members to develop their careers.”

Online CPD will be provided as part of the membership fee to approximately 25,000 members. The facility will, in addition, offer a means of marketing for training providers directly to REP members.

Peter Bodley-Scott, director at Premier IT adds, “With extensive experience of working with membership-based organisations, and personal experience of this industry, we understood the challenges that the REP face. We recognised the desire for the organisation to raise the profile of compliance and were able to quickly translate this need into practical and useful technology.”
