Bruel & Kjaer Employ Customer Led Product Priorities

November 14, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
UK – Nov, 2007 - Global sound and vibration equipment leader, Bruel and Kjaer utilised a specially designed - and rather unusual tool – called the ‘Pathfinder Box’, to conduct its latest customer research programme. Using feedback from previous interviews, with Bruel and Kjaer’s key Aerospace customers, the Pathfinder Box was created by consultancy firm Navisys Transformation, as the next stage in Bruel and Kjaer’s research program.

The slim, thirty by ten centimetres box contained two packs of cards, with business related statements, and four hollow slots headed: Agree, Partly Agree, Disagree and Pass. After reading each card statement, participants placed each card into one of the four slots to indicate their feelings towards the statements.

“Bruel and Kjaer has always known that successful product development goes hand in hand with understanding customer needs,” said Bruel and Kjaer UK Managing Director, William Egan. “The Pathfinder Box has proved to be an effective method of gathering impartial customer feedback, in a prioritised way. We’ve had an excellent response from participants of this study and will be using the data to decide how we will re-align our priorities based on customer input.”
