Daytona Beach, FL – November 13, 2007 – www.ChristianMoney.com, a comprehensive website for Christians that provides information about personal finance along with news and opinion of current events, has endorsed GOP candidate Mitt Romney as its choice for president in 2008, according to James Paris, the site’s Editor-in-Chief. “While Romney’s Mormonism is regarded as problematic by many evangelical Christians, we at Christian Money.com are more concerned about the values that Romney stands for and not a debate over traditional Christianity vs. Mormonism. Romney’s staunch pro-family positions are well-known and very appealing to us, as is the obvious evidence that he lives those values in his own personal life,” says Paris.

Paris acknowledges that many values-centered Christians are throwing their support behind former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, but suggests that Huckabee may be incomplete as a candidate. Says Paris, “While Mike Huckabee’s long association with conservative Christian values is highly-regarded by those of us here at Christian Money.com, we believe he lacks the necessary gravitas to effectively run and win the office. Mitt Romney, in addition to also having served as the chief executive of a state, has a well-documented record of business success that we believe is a particularly important qualification for a president to have, and, as an added bonus, has shown that he can garner support in the Northeast where liberalism has traditionally had a strong foothold.”

Paris admits that while no candidate is “perfect” for conservative Christians this time around, he hastens to add that looking for that “perfect” candidate is a waste of time. “Rarely does a candidate come along that precisely mirrors one’s own views and ideas up and down the line. Even Mike Huckabee, for all of his traditional Christian appeal, has taken some positions on illegal immigration that don’t sit well with many conservatives. The key for conservative Christians in 2008 is to find the candidate that best embodies a reflection of our core social values, fiscal policies that favor growth with limited government intrusion, sound conservative positions on matters of domestic and international policy, and a great chance at winning the White House; at www.ChristianMoney.com, we believe Mitt Romney is that candidate.”
