ePortfolio enables the learner to record and reflect on their achievements and learning outcomes on an on-going basis, and to promote proactive personal development and career planning. In addition, ePortfolio is accessible to trainers and organisations providing a birds eye view of the students competences and an opportunity to provide feedback and assessment.

ePortfolio consists of a personal electronic record containing information such as personal development plans, a collection of achievements, skills/competencies acquired, reflective notes and learning outcomes.

Peter Bodley-Scott, director of Premier IT explains, “With the publicity surrounding competency levels of healthcare workers, it’s important for learners to access a tool that enables them to record and reflect on their achievements on an ongoing basis. We believe the ePortfolio framework gives the transparency and consistency needed for training in the healthcare sector.”

Reflecting the very mobile nature of a healthcare professional’s work, the ePortfolio system can be accessed from any hand-held device, providing instant access to their development programme and training records.

Learning records can be cross-referenced with one or more skills or competencies to help build up a structured record of learning and development. A curriculum vitae tool is also included with sections on qualifications, employment, presentation, publications and teaching.
