Designer Payal Jain to Make U.S. Debut During New York's Couture Fashion Week®

Acclaimed New Delhi-based designer Payal Jain will show her latest collection which fuses art and fashion this Fall in New York City. Part of Couture Fashion Week® produced by USA International Fashion Shows®, the runway presentation will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). A special preview of the collection will be presented at the Sunday, August 28, 2005 Champagne Fashion Brunch® to be held at Scopa, 79 Madison Avenue (at 28th Street), NYC. After graduating summa cum laude from San Francisco's Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Payal Jain worked with a number of top design houses around the world before returning to her native India to start her own label.a decade ago. Today she is recognized as one of her country's leading fashion designers and has shown her collections multiple times during India Fashion Week and recently at Toronto Fashion Week in Canada. Ms. Jain's ensembles are sold at exclusive outlets across India, Europe, Canada, U.A.E and South East Asia and have found their place in some of the most stylish wardrobes across the globe.

Ms. Jain has always sought new challenges to put her skills to test. She has worked to raised funds through fashion shows for such charities as the Tamana Special School, the Vatsalya Foundation for Street Children in Mumbai, the Cancer Patient Aid Association and the Prayas Foundation in Delhi. In addition to her regular fashion collections, Ms. Jain has designed uniforms for prestigious hotels, hospitals and schools. Her corporate design work is a synthesis of functionality and elegance. Payal Jain recently published her first book on fashion. This educational reference provides insight into the fashion world and serves as a knowledge bank for fashion students.
