Want to know what signs you should look for in early Alzheimer's? Need to learn more about selecting a home health care service? Want honest, unbiased reviews on assisted living facilities? Children of seniors looking for trustworthy information to help their aging parents often struggle to find a legitimate resource on the web. CareGrade.com has set out to change that by adding celebrity authors and other well known senior advocates to their website.

The first in a series of interviews and articles, which is posted on their blog www.caregrade.com/blog, is an interview with former television executive and best selling author Jacqueline Marcell. Ms. Marcell's acclaimed book Elder Rage discusses what it is like caring for two parents with dementia. Ms. Marcell gives insightful information for people trying to figure out if the odd behavior of their parents is a sign of Alzheimer's disease, or simply the normal signs of aging.

In the article, Ms. Marcell states "If you notice any of these signs in your loved one, write them down and keep track, so you can share them with the doctor. Then, ask for a referral to a neurologist who is specialized in dementia, who will do a battery of blood, neurological, memory tests, and possibly PET scans (and rule out the many reversible dementias), so an accurate diagnosis can be obtained and appropriate treatment can be started as soon as possible."
