Building a reputation…Meyer named First Vice President- Boston Builders Assoc.
December 06, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business NewsFounded in 1944, BAGB has evolved into one of the largest trade associations in New England with more than 700 members. Affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts (HBAM), BAGB provides its members with educational programs and professional development opportunities—including certification programs to become a Graduate Builder and Re-modeler—as well as access to the Association’s reference library, networking events to meet fellow builders and discounts on supplies and services.
“Being named to the leadership team of an esteemed organization like BAGB is an honor and a responsibility I take quite seriously,” said Meyer. “As our industry faces a difficult market and many other challenges, BAGB can play a major part in not only the development of its members, but making sure its voice is heard in the business community and on Beacon Hill.”
In addition to a full calendar of events, BAGB hosts an annual recognition event, the PRISM (Prestigious Results in Sales and Marketing) Awards, honoring New England’s most elite housing professionals for excellence in building, design, sales and marketing and a number of other categories. A BAGB membership also offers builders numerous other opportunities to markets their products and services through a number of vehicles and events—Parade of Homes, Greater Boston Builder Advertising and the associations key sponsors, like National Lumber, Wells Fargo Mortgage to name a few.
“Builders nowadays face a great number of issues, like the repeal efforts of 40b, the movement toward green building and developing criteria and standards, local zoning restrictions and a tight housing market,” continued Meyer. “As part of BAGB’s leadership team, I want to make sure that we’re at the forefront of addressing and maybe even solving a few of these issues while making a membership to our association a more than worthwhile investment.”
BAGB members consist of residential and commercial builders as well as individuals who work for firms supporting the efforts of builders—architects, attorneys, building material suppliers, insurance agencies, banks, engineers, subcontractors and more. A BAGB membership automatically makes you a member of HBAM and NAHB.
