Yankee Alliance and Noblis Announce Preferred Provider Agreement for RASMAS Product Recall Management Service

December 10, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Noblis has entered into a 3-year agreement with Yankee Alliance to improve patient safety through the Risk And Safety Management Alert System (RASMAS) for its member hospitals. RASMAS is a web-based subscription service that provides comprehensive notification, distribution, and management of product alerts and recalls for healthcare organizations

Recall management is conducted manually in most U.S. hospitals. Over 2500 alerts are released each year and all require review and attention by hospital staff. RASMAS automates many tasks and supports workflow activities to ensure alerts are managed in a timely fashion. The result is an average 80% time reduction for alert processing tasks and a dramatic decrease in the number of days spent responding to alerts. By providing health care organizations with an electronic, profile-driven alert system, RASMAS helps ensure alerts are processed quickly and properly, promoting patient safety.

“Yankee Alliance is very pleased to offer its members the opportunity to utilize this important service,” said John Ackles, Yankee’s Director, Capital Equipment Services. “We share the same vision as Noblis: to help hospitals increase patient safety, improve clinical effectiveness and heighten operational efficiency.”

Since 2004, RASMAS has been adopted by more than 400 subscribing healthcare organizations. Today, RASMAS has over 8000 users and subscribing hospitals include seven of the nation’s top 15 hospitals listed in the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals 2007 and eight of the 2006 Top Hospitals by the Leapfrog Group.
