Farallon Geographics Selected as an MTC P-TAP 9 Vendor

December 14, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Politics News
Farallon Geographics has been selected as a qualified P-TAP 9 consultant and vendor for their work integrating Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s (MTC) "StreetSaver" pavement management system (PMS) with Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. Farallon has been awarded contracts with the Santa Clara County and the City of Hayward. The Pavement Management Technical Assistance Program (P-TAP) provides Bay Area jurisdictions with assistance and expertise in implementing and maintaining MTC’s StreetSaver PMS.

Farallon Geographics has been selected by P-TAP for each of the past five years and has provided GIS that dynamically integrates with PMS for several Bay Area jurisdictions including the Counties of Sonoma, Santa Clara, and San Mateo as well as the Cities of Oakland, Napa, Fairfield, Santa Rosa, Menlo Park, Stockton and Cupertino. Farallon’s integrated GIS-PMS allows users to quickly create maps that show the extent of distressed streets in order to perform real-time scenarios and maintenance analysis to allocate funding most effectively. It also eliminates duplicated and inconsistent data. Through web-based map interfaces, Farallon’s GIS-PMS allows easy access to a variety of spatially referenced data such as condition surveys, construction history, and maintenance records so that management, engineers and the public can efficiently identify problem pavement areas.
