December 19, 2007 Detroit, Michigan — American Road Magazine has assembled holiday care packages for two US Army platoons with donations from subscribers and staff from California to South Carolina. The first platoon is from North Carolina and will be in Afghanistan until mid-January. The second platoon is from Germany and will be in Iraq until next October. The care packages each include copies of American Road Magazine, personal hygiene items, bottled water, note cards to write friends/family, games, candy, and more.

American Road® is an award-winning, quarterly, full color, 68-page periodical published by Mock Turtle Press. It is the premier publication, print and electronic, that features the joys and adventures of traveling America's back roads.

“The idea came about when some of our subscribers suggested sending holiday cards and gift subscriptions to soldiers overseas,” says co-founder Becky Repp. “We wanted to bring a bit of home to the soldiers over the holidays. These packages are a small token of thanks for all they are doing for our country.” American Road encourages subscribers and other Americans to support our service men and women all year long by visiting www.anysoldier.com or www.treatanysoldier.com.

Introduced to the national market in 2003, AMERICAN ROAD® is distributed nationally by Disticor and available in Barnes & Noble, Hastings, Wal-Mart, Borders, and other fine retailers nationwide. Visit www.americanroadmagazine.com for more information.
