CHICAGO – December 2007 – With the official launch last month of, you can now have gyms work out for your business.

By providing a value-driven marketplace, allows you to get competitive bids from gyms offering free trial memberships, special deals and information to help you decide which gym best suits your fitness needs.

“It’s like Lending Tree, but for gym memberships,” said founder Sasha Patel. “By introducing the bidding concept to the health and fitness industry we are determined to improve the way consumers and gyms find each other.”

Sasha and his brother Nirav, CEO of, know that being the first ones to bring this concept to market has had its advantages. Many gyms in Chicago including Fitness Formula Clubs, Crunch Fitness and Lakeshore Athletic Clubs were quick to recognize the value of a common-ground platform in which they can tell consumers why they are the best choice for membership and provide special deals and offers to prove it.

“Our gym and health club partners have been enjoying our service because they gain new members that may have never considered joining that facility otherwise,” added Nirav. “The overwhelmingly positive response from both consumers and gyms has been very inspiring.”

GymBids launched first in Chicago and consumers have been taking full advantage of its free service. Consumers register by filling out a quick two-minute profile and within 48 hours they receive competitive bids from gyms to help them quickly compare their options.

Sasha developed GymBids to create a marketplace which he hoped would make the process of finding a gym membership easier while putting some power back into the consumer’s hands. He noted the simple ways that technology could streamline the process for consumers and gyms alike.

“My own gym search frustrated me because I had to personally visit each gym in order to get the information I needed about gyms in Chicago,” continued Sasha. “I created out of this frustration – to make the process more efficient and easily connect consumers and gyms with each other.”
