Neenah's Ayurvedic-Life International Inks Licensing Deal with East India Pharmaceutical Works

Neenah, Wis. (Dec. 21, 2007) — East India Pharmaceutical Works (EIPW) Ltd., Kolkata, India, has licensed two patents from Ayurvedic-Life International, LLC, a Neenah-based research and development company focused on phytopharmacological applications. The agreement will enable EIPW to extend its presence in the diabetes health care market in India.

“We are excited about being able to deliver a novel ayurvedic-based product into the Indian market based on our licensing agreement with Ayurvedic-Life,” said Dipankar Dutta Gupta, managing director of EIPW Ltd.

In 2000, the World Health Organization estimated that nearly 32 million people in India had diabetes. Officials with WHO estimate that will increase to 79 million people by 2030.
