Las Vegas, NV — December 24, 2007 — Don Barnhart, winner of 2007 American Idol's Comedy Contest releases his first independent film China Dolls. An action adventure about human trafficking that he wrote, directs and stars in.

In a fierce online competition, Don Barnhart Jr was crowned the new comedy champion in The American Idol Underground’s 2007 Big Push Competition. AIU is the online version of American Idol that allows artists to compete in 13 different categories including comedy.

The winnings and exposure have help Barnhart to finish production on his first indie film, China Dolls which he wrote, directs and stars in. It's a gripping look into the underground world of human trafficking and slavery.

The film, currently touring the festival circuit is getting great reviews so far and Barnhart just signed with a producer's rep who is seeking worldwide sales.

Shot in Las Vegas, Kauai and Los Angeles, China Dolls shows an underside of Sin City that few ever see. Barnhart says, "the movie was inspired by what I witnessed while entertaining the troops overseas".
