We're Looking for a Fight! And, unfortunately, we're finding them. Animal fighting is happening right here in our community. This brutal blood sport claims victim’s everyday and it is up to us to stop it.

The Unconditional Love Foundation is dedicated to putting an end to animal fighting and is working with the Muncie – Delaware County Dogfighting Task Force by sponsoring a community awareness campaign.

This awareness campaign takes our message to the streets. The campaign includes posters and postcards distributed throughout the community. The message is important and straightforward. We're looking for information about animal fighting and we're willing to pay for it. Up to a $2,500 reward is possible if your animal fighting tip leads to an arrest and conviction.

The Indiana State laws concerning animal fighting include: Animal fighting contest prohibited (IC 35-46-3-9), Promoting an animal fighting contest (IC 35-46-3-9.5) both are a felony, maximum punishment is three years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine. Possession of an animal for an animal fighting contest (IC 35-46-3-8), Attending an animal fighting contest prohibited (IC 35-46-3-10) and Possession of animal fighting paraphernalia (IC35-46-3-8.5) are all misdemeanors, punishable with up to one year in jail and/or a $5,000 fine.

Dog fighting is a menace to our community at every level. Animal-fighting events are riddled with drugs, gambling and illegal weapons. Children often witness the training and even the fighting of animals, fostering in them a passion for violence, a frightening disregard for other living beings and lack of respect for the law. The dogs themselves are dangerous members of the community. They have been bred for many generations to be dangerously aggressive. The presence of fighting dogs in a community increases the risk of attacks not only on other animals but also on people. Children are especially at risk; a fighting dog may not be able to distinguish them from another animal. Bloodlines of dogs bred specifically for fighting may make their way into the genetic makeup of companion animal populations, increasing the chance of a human injury or fatality.

Jill Dolon, President and Founder of the Unconditional Love Foundation stated,” The Unconditional Love Foundation is committed to making our community a better place for the people and animals who live here, we will do whatever we can to educate the public on issues such as animal fighting and do whatever is needed to help put an end to this horrifying blood sport.”
