Painter Mark Rushton recently moved his online art gallery back to his old location: http://www.markrushton.com

"It’s just a matter of simplifying things in my life," said Rushton, 38, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

To celebrate the change, Rushton offers up a large number of new paintings and prints.

"I was lucky enough to visit the opening of the new CafePress.com production facility in Louisville, Kentucky around July 4th," says Rushton, "and it inspired me to create a new line of paintings which could easily be transformed into inexpensive prints for the home or office."

The original paintings, small acrylic washes of color in multiple layers and done on synthetic paper, are no bigger than 10" by 8", including matting. The image is then scanned at high resolution and placed on the CafePress.com site in Rushton's store: http://art.markrushton.com

Rushton's aim is to make gorgeous, colorful framed prints for under $50.

"People don't have enough original art in their homes or workplaces, and I'm out to change all that," says Rushton. "My original works are fairly inexpensive to begin with, but keeping a fantastic piece of art in a 19" by 15" frame for under $50 is an amazing price point.

Rushton has been busy in 2005 creating original works of art that are sold at silent auctions in his region to help raise money for local charities. "It's a good feeling to know that something I've created can help others and provide a nice picture for a person's wall." Adds Rushton, "If the right charity comes along and asks for a painting donation, I'd be happy to offer them something. Feel free to ask!"
