Formed in March 2004 as a reaction to onerous water cooler rental contracts Water Coolers Direct offers UK businesses and homeowners the option of buying a water cooler outright. To date over 5,000 customers have joined the water cooler revolution and have decided to purchase their drinking water machines rather than entering into onerous rental contracts. In 2006 Water Coolers Direct launched their second website Water Boilers Direct based on a similar business model, the site focuses on the most relevant detail relating to each product, allowing the consumer to make an informed decision on which boiler or heater is right for them. Water Boilers Direct focuses on 3 Key areas where the existing Water Boiler competition falls short:

Many of the completion are offering the boilers alongside other products on the same site, as a result the information on each product is unclear making it difficult for the prospective customer to make a decision

The competition have largely failed to identify the key selling points of each boiler and fail to marry up the needs of the prospective customer with the information on the website

The competition are offering a large range of products often in a counter mingled state making it even more difficult for the prospective customer to make a decision

In 1975 Zip introduced the world to the very first instant boiling water heaters as we know them today. No more waiting for water to boil in your kettle or Urn. Touch the tap and out it poured — boiling water, a cupful or a pot full at a time. In 1997 Zip Heaters UK acquired Solectra, increasing their product range to include hot water products for commercial and domestic applications. Zip Heaters UK Ltd is now able to offer hot water products with capacities ranging from 5 litres up to 250 litres. Millions of people world-wide now use a Zip daily for tea, coffee and cooking. Hospitals in Singapore, naval bases in the United Kingdom, universities in China, the Sydney Opera House and Number Ten Downing Street now have one thing in common - all enjoy the convenience of Zip instant boiling water in their kitchens.

Water Boilers Direct has decided to feature the complete range of Zip Water Heaters and Boilers the products include:

Water Boiler Range:

The Zip Water Boilers remove the need for cumbersome kettles and urns or the associated clumsy and dangerous power cables, the boilers also avoid the need for annual portable appliance testing which is a must if you have an normal kettle.

The Zip HydroBoil & Zip HydroBoil Plus over-sink instant boiling water systems intended for use in busy office kitchens. The systems have a capacity of 1.5 to 40 litres and dispense water within 1°C off boiling point.

The Zip EconoBoil is an over-sink instant boiling water system that is designed principally to fit into temporary buildings or buildings with short term tenancies. The system has a two-way tap which provides fingertip control allowing you to fill cups and a lock ‘on’ function enabling you to fill larger vessels.

Within the Water Heater Range:

The Zip Water Heaters are able to provide between 5 to 250 litres of hot water.

The Zip AquaPoint III range of water heaters are able to dispense between 5 to 100 litres of preset 25ºC to 75ºC hot water.

The Zip Tudor range of water heaters are available in either over sink or under sink versions, both types have either a 5 or 10 litre capacity.

The Zip AquaFlo are a range of high capacity un-vented, stainless-steel cylindrical water heaters. The heaters are designed to run directly from the mains supply at a pressure of 3.5 bar enabling a higher water delivery performance.

The Zip RCH systems are a range of cistern-type water heaters and are the only UK water heater of its type that is fully WRAS approved. Available in 25, 50, 75, and 100 litre versions the heaters incorporate a patented design that enables the temperature of the cold water to meet current regulatory limits.

Fred Cairns Palmer, Managing Director, WaterCoolersDirect.com Ltd said; "We have great hopes for the ZIP boilers and heaters the capability of the boilers in particular is staggering we know from experience how difficult it is to produce a system that dispense water so close to boiling point…" he goes on to comment that "…the systems are very competitively priced considering the performance we are looking forward to making the most of this exciting opportunity."

As well as offering sections for each zip boiler and heater and ensuring clear product differentiation Water Boilers Direct are also offering filters alongside the range of boilers. The filters inhibit scale and reduce the level of chlorine in the water, as a result the customer will be able to protect their machine from scale damage and enjoy water free from bad tastes and odours.

Water Coolers Direct also envisage the new Zip boilers and heaters sitting as companion products to their range of coolers, the boilers being able to achieve higher temperatures than most water coolers currently on the market. Martin Booth the Sales Director of Water Coolers Direct said “Many of our existing coolers are capable of only reaching 85ºc which is ideal for coffee but not great for tea. The water boilers will give our staff the option of offering the water boilers as a bolt on product for those companies who cant afford our high end corporate water cooler, or who would prefer to site hot water machines in a kitchen area”.
