“Three Medals for Tequilera El Triangulo”

Tequilera El Triangulo, S.A. de C.V., from the state of Jalisco, Mexico was awarded three medals in the 2005 International Wine and Spirits Competition in London, England yesterday. The independent tequilera received the medals in the category of Tequila 100% Agave “reposado” class for Tequila Amatitlan Reposado with the Gold Best in Class medal and the Silver Medal for Tequila Penacho Azteca Reposado. In the Tequila 100% Agave “joven” or gold tequila class, Tequilera El Triangulo was awarded a Silver Medal for Tequila Penacho Azteca Joven.

The International Wine and Spirits Competition is one of the most prestigious beverage competitions in the world. The brands competed among some world-renowned tequilas. The reposado category, a smooth tasting, pale colored tequila which is kept in oak casks for between two months and a year, included major players like Chinaco which is owned by Jim Beam Brands and Tequila Sauza owned by Allied Domecq. The “joven” category, known in the United States as Gold tequila is not aged, but goes through a different distillation process. Tequlera El Triaangulo did not compete in the añejo or aged category.

Tequila Amatitlan and Tequila Penacho Azteca, both in the Ultra Premium and Premium segments are not yet available in the United States, but Tequilera El Triangulo is in planning with a new company, El Camino Brands, LLC, for their launch in this market within the next 6 months.

Currently, both brands are distributed independently by Tequilera El Triangulo various parts of Mexico and are receiving requests for their products from as far away as Russia.
