Spring schedule for Life Settlement University

March 19, 2008 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Atlanta – Life Settlement University (LSU) has posted its Spring class schedule (www.LifeSettlementUniversity.com), including live Web courses (Webinars) designed for life settlement novices and those seeking advanced training in the subject.

Life Settlement University is designed to educate insurance and financial professionals from insurance agents and insurance company home office employees to regulators, attorneys, accountants and legislators about the relatively young secondary market for life insurance. Life settlements enable seniors or those with terminal illness who no longer want or need their life insurance to receive an advance cash payment for their policy.

Courses, from Life Settlements 101 to Advanced Uses of Life Settlements in Estate Planning are open to insurance and financial professionals and their support staffs, and anyone else who needs to better understand life settlements. Six classes, all of which are held in Atlanta – via Webinar (live, Web-based classes that allow participation from any computer, anywhere) – are on the Spring schedule. Anyone in the Atlanta area is welcome to attend the classes in person. To sign up for a class, for Web or in-person attendance, visit the Register page of www.LifeSettlementUniversity.com.

Tom Virkler, managing member of E.L. Burke in Athens, Georgia, attended Life Settlement University online courses and says, “as consumer and investor interest in the secondary marketplace (for life insurance) grows, and as regulatory attention to settlement transactions intensifies, I believe there is no better guide to the industry than Bryan Freeman (founder of LSU). I found his LSU to be tremendously instructive and intend to participate in future opportunities as they become available.”

“Among other things, our students have told us that they learned of life settlements from a client or colleague and knew they then needed to learn more about settlements,” says M. Bryan Freeman, a life settlement industry pioneer who is the founder of LSU. “Once they do learn more about settlements they can keep that as hip-pocket information ‘just in case,’ or they may choose to then make settlements an active part of their practices. Either way, I think savvy agents know they need to know more about life settlements. I would even posit that they have a fiduciary duty to do so.”

Previous terms at Life Settlement University have also attracted accountants, attorneys, insurance company employees, legislators, regulators and others.

Classes will be added to the schedule periodically.
