Westlake Village, CA (April 7, 2008) – CareNow Foundation is pleased to announce Nick Vujicic is the keynote speaker for the Foundation’s second annual SafariNow fundraising gala, slated for Sunday, May 4 at the Moorpark Country Club, Moorpark, California. “Nick Vujicic is an amazing speaker and is a true testimony for embracing life’s challenges. He has not let his physical limitations of being born without legs or arms deter him from living a full and meaningful life,” said Ed Bjurstrom, founder of CareNow Foundation. “We are so honored and elated to have him speak at our event,” added Wendy Bjurstrom,” co-chair for the SafariNow Gala.

As a child growing up in Brisbane, Australia, Vujicic dealt not only with the typical challenges of school; he also struggled with depression and loneliness and questioned why he was different from all the other kids around him. Eventually, he embraced his situation and began to achieve great things.

It was at the age of 19 that Vujicic started to fulfill his dream of being able to encourage others and bring them hope, through motivational speaking and telling his story.

Vujicic has his own motivational speaking company called Attitude Is Altitude and has traveled the world sharing his story with millions of people, including numerous world leaders. “Nick’s message fits well with the theme for our event —SafariNow: A Passport To Hope,” said Wendy Bjurstrom.

The SafariNow Gala will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a reception, interactive demonstrations, and a silent auction. The dinner program will include a musical program directed by Tim Heintz, along with special speakers who are involved in Africa, and a live auction. Tickets are $125 each or $1,250 for a table of 10. Sponsorships are available at the following levels:
Ambassador - $20,000, Diplomat - $15,000, Delegate - $10,000, Commissioner - $5,000, Advocate - $2,500 and Agent of Hope - $1,000.
