Encounta, a Sydney based VoIP company has announced the imminent launch of ZippyCALL, an Encounta PC to Phone service for residential and small business broadband subscribers.

According to Chris Lund, Encounta's CEO "We are working on next generation VoIP products for the global marketplace and have several exciting and uniquely different products with supporting services due to be released over the next six months or so. The trials with ZippyCALL have exceeded our technical expectations particularly with regard to audio quality and it's time for Encounta to emerge from ‘stealth mode' to enter the market".

ZippyCALL offers subscribers prepaid access to Encounta's SIP network with free on-net calling and low cost global termination rates to any phone for off-net calls. " We've added a number of useful features in addition to the usual three-way calling, speed dialing and follow-me features' says Chris Lund. " Customers are growing more confident in the quality and reliability of VoIP and are ready for more sophisticated features and that's why we've added an answerphone with customizable audio greeting and ring back facilities'.



In conjunction with the ZippyCALL launch Encounta will also release the Zippy-Zip adapter that connects any normal phone to a PC, and a USB phone that rings thereby alerting the user to incoming calls.

" I think Encounta has a clear understanding of where the market is heading' comments Chris Lund. " Although companies like Vonage and Skype have made a lot of noise this year in the media we'll see how their business models measure up as voice carriage rates move lower. North American companies with access to large amounts of capital may have early mover advantage but as we know, the internet is a great equalizer. Right now we may feel like David versus Goliath in Australia but anything they can do………..'
