St. Louis, MO — Hager Companies, a leading manufacturer of commercial door hardware, recently announced a new series of value-added Architectural Hardware Consulting (AHC) services to architects and hardware specifiers, all free of charge.

“Our new AHC services reflect our commitment to the architectural community,” said Donnell Siebert, VP Marketing and Product Development at Hager. “Architects and specifiers can now receive truly fair and objective specifications from our experienced hardware specialists, many with more than 20 years in the industry.”
Hager's list of value-added services includes door hardware specification writing, code compliance, design development assistance, submitted schedules review and approval, budget preparation and technical project support.

The new services from Hager Companies reflect a growing trend in the industry of hardware manufacturers taking over the specification functions. Previously, independent spec writers provided product specifications and design coordination on projects to architectural firms. Today, door hardware companies are providing the functional specifications for finished products, including how they will be incorporated into all building structures, including hospitals, schools, office buildings and many others.

“The key benefit of including the functional spec as a ‘value add’ is that it streamlines the architectural process,” said Steve Delatte, Vice President of Strategic Sales at Hager. “Once the architect has the spec in hand, ideally all the basic questions about the structure are answered upfront, enabling the building process to begin without guesswork or personal interpretation.”

Hager Companies offers a "Lunch & Learn" program to inform architects about its new Architectural Hardware Consulting services. Interested architectural firms can schedule a presentation by calling Hager at 1-800-325-9995.

Founded in 1849, St. Louis-based Hager Companies offers more than 6,000 commercial door hardware products in nine individual product lines, continuing its more than 150-year history of quality and innovation in the industry. For additional information, visit www.hagerco.com.
