Lacey, Washington – Engineered Software, Inc., the leading provider of software used to design and simulate the operation of fluid piping systems, announced its latest product release, PIPE-FLO Overtime. Overtime works in conjunction with the company’s industry standard PIPE-FLO Professional program.

“PIPE-FLO Overtime is a major technological advancement in hydraulic analysis providing users a dynamic problem solving simulation tool,” said Ray Hardee, Vice President of Engineering at Engineered Software, Inc. “Overtime improves upon PIPE-FLO Professional’s steady-state analysis by conducting a dynamic simulation of how a system operates over a specific range of time.”

Overtime’s events editor gives users the ability to create events – such as starting a pump on a high tank level or setting a valve at a given flow rate – and then determine how the events affect the system.

“By using the intuitive events editor engineers can create real-world scenarios to better understand how their system will operate under a variety of operating conditions,” Hardee said. “Analyzing different scenarios quickly and accurately using Overtime takes the guess work out of the ‘what-if’ situations that engineers spend tremendous amounts of time preparing for.”

Once Overtime has run the simulation, the program’s VCR controls make it easy to playback, pause, rewind and a fast forward to any point in the simulation to gain a detailed look at what is happening within the system during each time interval. Overtime is also equipped with a powerful graphing feature that allows users to better visualize their results by creating custom graphs.

“Users can create custom graphs that plot the results for any pipeline, pump, component, control, demand or node in a system as a function of time. These results can then be printed to any Windows supported printer or plotter providing excellent presentation material used to support engineering assumptions,” Hardee said.

“For nearly 25 years we have been providing engineers with software solutions that make their jobs easier. PIPE-FLO Overtime continues our tradition of creating programs that exceed the expectations of our customers,” Hardee added.

The PIPE-FLO product line is used by designers and operators to gain a clear picture of their fluid piping systems. The program allows users to visualize their systems in a familiar format, calculate system operations, easily communicate the design with others and access supporting documents in electronic format.
