Additionally, a schedule of educational events related to wine pairings, cooking classes and tasting tips has been organized to provide guests with a complete wine experience. Commercial and amateur winemakers will be competing for medals awarded by a professional panel of judges.

According to Charles Hardin, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, this year’s festival will highlight the unique style of wines produced along one of the oldest mountain chains in the world. “Blowing Rock has been known for its mountain beauty for centuries, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors traveling along the Blue Ridge Parkway,” adds Hardin. “However, many visitors don’t know about the world class wines that are influenced by our unique terrain. This region is known world wide for its unspoiled beauty and we are really looking forward to introducing people from around the world to one more aspect of what makes our area unlike any other.”
