Research and Markets: Mobile Penetration in The Netherlands Over 100%

Dublin - Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c22498) has announced the addition of Mobile Penetration in The Netherlands Over 100% to their offering

While SIM penetration has exceed 100 percent of the population during the first quarter of 2005, customer growth rates are slowing down as operators seem less committed to subsidize the acquisition of prepay customers. This has negatively impacted overall customer growth in the first quarter of this year. KPN kept its momentum and is recovering its market share, and is up from an all-time low in June 2004. While T-Mobile's picked up significant momentum in 2002 and 2003, its growth faltered since June 2004, helping KPN's recovery to kick-in.

It is estimated for the first quarter of 2005 further suggest that year-on-year quarterly revenue growth rates are flattening out, confirming earlier research findings. With the exception of KPN, mobile service revenues for all operators are down in comparison with the last quarter last year. Despite the growth in revenues for non-voice services, demand for mobile broadband services has not picked up strongly enough to balance a quarterly decline in mobile voice revenues.
