Ryan Vartoogian Receives Michigan State University Distinguished Young Alumni Award

Ryan Vartoogian received the Michigan State University (MSU) Distinguished Young Alumni Award during MSU's Grand Awards ceremony Oct. 2, 2008.

The Distinguished Young Alumni Award is a new award that is given annually to candidates who have distinguished themselves by obtaining a high level of professional accomplishment and who possess high standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of MSU. These individuals demonstrate a commitment to MSU by continuing outstanding volunteer service on behalf of the University and/or participation and leadership in meritorious public service on a local, state, national or international level.

Mr. Vartoogian is president of Spartan Internet Consulting which he started as a sophomore at Michigan State University. He is a past recipient of the 10 Over the Next 10, as well as several entrepreneurial and public service awards.

Mr. Vartoogian is a frequently sought-after presenter, panelist, and author on a variety of Internet marketing and entrepreneurial topics. Mr. Vartoogian actively serves on the board of a number of state and local organizations designed among other things to strengthen education, entrepreneurship and workforce development.

Mr. Vartoogian is heavily involved in supporting student groups such as SCNO, the Students Consultants for Non Profits. In 2007 his company Spartan Internet Consulting purchased the 32,000 square feet Holmes Street Elementary to aid in the creation of the MSU collaborative ITEC (Information Technology Empowerment Center). "I am very excited about the Universities open door policy and willingness to explore innovative ways to serve the community." said Ryan Vartoogian. This learning laboratory will help bridge the digital divide while extending research opportunities for MSU faculty.
