TeleportJobs free online job board develops a unique method of determining the economic health of the Nation. As of this release the current nationwide average “FOSS” (Fairly Odd Salary Survey) Score is 6.96. According to Doug Snyder (Owner of TeleportJobs ;) this is a “fairly” good score. Snyder states that the FOSS score relates to the number of hours in an 8 hour work day that you MUST work in order to live. If you score under an 8 then you are doing well. If you score over an 8 then you might want to find a better paying job.

Originally developed as a salary survey; the FOSS emerged into something more. It gives a “snapshot” of Americas’ financial health as well as ones’ personal financial health. It can be used on a monthly basis as a way to gauge your progress. “You can decrease your FOSS score by finding a better paying job or cutting back on your expenses” says Doug. “Yes, I was the first one to be included in the National average. I’m ashamed to admit that it wasn’t such a great score. I guess that I had better get a better paying job.”

“Anyone is welcome to take the FOSS and include their score with the National average. All that we ask is that you are honest about your answers. The survey is confidential and your score will only be included in the average if you choose.”

Over time Snyder hopes that the National FOSS score can be used as a major economic index that gauges the robustness of the Nations’ economy.
