Hammock Inc. Awarded the 2008 Custom Publishing Council Pearl Gold Prize for Best Use of Alternative Media and Multimedia Technology
December 02, 2008 (PRLEAP.COM) Business NewsNashville, TN – December 2, 2008 - Last month, the custom media and social media marketing company Hammock Inc. (www.hammock.com) received two Pearl awards-one gold and one bronze. The Custom Publishing Council's fifth annual Pearl Awards ceremony took place Nov. 13 in New York City, honoring the best in "design, digital, editorial and strategic initiatives for B2B and consumer custom publications." Bronze, silver and gold awards were presented to 53 companies from more than 600 entries.
In the digital category, Hammock received the Gold Prize for its work on the National Small Business Summit Web site (www2.NFIB.com), designed by Min Yoon and a property of its client, the National Federation of Independent Business (www.NFIB.com), the nation's leading small business advocacy association. During the Summit, the event Web site (www.NFIB.com/summit) utilized online social media and conversation tools, including Flickr, YouTube and Twitter. The site connected and gathered small business owners online, building a community of small business owners to share their Summit experiences.
After the event, Hammock worked with NFIB to create and distribute a special, multimedia, digital edition supplement of their magazine, MyBusiness (www.NFIB.com/digitaledition), covering the highlights of the Small Business Summit. The issue reached more than 1 million small business owners across the country. Hammock already works with NFIB on MyBusiness, the bimonthly 500,000 circulation magazine for members of the small business advocacy association.
In addition to the Gold Prize, Hammock Inc. received a Bronze Prize for the Best Editorial for circulation under 50,000 for American Spirit, which they publish for the Daughters of the American Revolution.
