Belinda thought her dream of helping others had come to an end when the university she attended failed her by a single point placing her at the very top of its "perfect bell curve" on a subjective, newly administered, comprehensive exam leading to her doctorate in clinical psychology. She sported a 3.5 GPA (not bad for a single mom and returning student), an excellent track record for helping clients in therapy, glowing recommendations from her supervisors after a two-year practicum, and a stronger desire than anyone she knew to help others. Belinda had been in school for seven (7) years straight through the summers, sacrificing time with her young son, in an effort to create a better life for them and to achieve her dream of becoming a clinical psychologist believing that would give her the credentials behind her name to speak and empower people. That dream ended when computers failed her with glitches on each day of the two-day exam that would propel her into an internship to secure her Psy. D. Being a single mother lacking the extra funds it would take to continue, she was devastated. She wondered, "What now?" The university policy did not allow her to re-take the exam until a year later, and all of her appeals failed. Standing on principle with all issues considered, she refused to repeat an exam that had failed her so miserably. After feeling paralyzed and overwhelmed with over $200,000 in school loans and no doctorate, her determination and powerful intention set in.

Belinda had no idea her life would take a turn that would lead her into a profession she describes as "taking her breath away." The rapidity with which she sees clients get well, overcome anxiety, panic, depression, phobias, improve their lives in every way, changed her belief about traditional psychotherapy and the power of the mind she had studied about for so long. She asked herself, "Could my dream really be revived?" Her answer, since embarking on this journey, "Sometimes we don't get what we want in life – we get better than what we could have dreamed, and that's what happened to me when I began to study Hypnosis (a heightened state of relaxed awareness where positive suggestions for change can be absorbed by the subconscious mind and acted upon in waking consciousness), NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), a model for excellence in any field of endeavor from parenting, teaching, public speaking, politics, sales, and business to acting and coaching, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a technique that sees negative emotion as a disruption in our energy field that uses tapping ancient Chinese meridian points for clearing and shows much promise for our returning troops suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder."

After all of her studying and searching, she finally found the Key to Empowerment, the Key to healing Body, Mind, & Spirit. She had been so focused on and driven toward her doctoral degree for so long that her true desires and life purpose had been suppressed. With the degree no longer available to her, she sought an avenue of healing that has become her passion, her raison d'être. Within her she had the wisdom and knowledge to do what she came here to do all along. She just had to get the "chatter" out of the way and clear her path to secure her destiny, that of being the change she wants to see in the world. Belinda Waters advises those who seek her out, "Create that atmosphere, and that which brings about life itself will bring it into your experience."
