CAMP, CULT, CLASSIC THE FIRST ANNUAL CENTURY CITY FESTIVAL

CENTURY CITY, CA., OCTOBER 1, 2004 – "Camp, Cult, Classics' is the theme for the first annual Century City Film Festival from October 27-30, 2004.

Century City, home of 20th Century Fox, MGM,Westfield Shopping Town and now the Century City Film Festival, a Film Festival like no other.

Patrice Williams, Director of the festival, and CEO and founder of The Minorities in Broadcasting Training Program, (the charity the festival will benefits) states: "Century City started as part of the back lot of Twentieth Century Fox film studios and today is home to a wide range of companies involved in the film and entertainment business, including studios, entertainment law firms, production companies, PR and marketing agencies. It was only a matter of time before Century City would have a need for a film festival, and I feel that time is Now.'

The Century City Film Festival in its inaugural year has received an overwhelming five hundred entries from all over the world. All the entries where reviewed and graded, we selected the top nine independently produced features, six documentaries and fifty-one short films that will be screened from October 27-30, 2004.

"Our festival is planned as a fun, off-beat at times, event which is why we are programed camp, cult, and classic movies,' says Williams. "For our non-traditional category we'll be showcasing new films in the campy, B-movie, experimental or musical niche genres.'


Cult favorite writer-director Ed Wood will be honored by the festival with a special award named after him to be given to the top filmmaker in the "non-traditional short' category. Other competitive categories will be features, traditional shorts and documentaries. The festival will also features the "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" screenwriting competition.

The Century City Film Festival kicks off on October 27, 2004 with an opening ceremony gala with some of the baggiest names in movies, television, music, and sports in attendance to show support for the Century City Film Festival and The Minorities in Broadcasting Training Program charity.

The Minorities in Broadcasting Training Program was formed in 1992 to provide training opportunities to minority college graduates in television and radio news reporting, news management and film production.
