NEWARK, DE-Molecular Imaging Services, Inc. (MIS) is pleased to announce that it has expanded its nationwide nuclear imaging lab network through the recent acquisition of imaging lab practices from Cardinal Health. Through these imaging labs, MIS will offer a turnkey suite of services to enable cardiologists to provide office-based diagnostic imaging to their patients.

"Our team has been dedicated to providing high-quality, customer-focused and compliance support to cardiology imaging labs for over 20 years. We are thrilled to welcome the Cardinal Health labs to our network. MIS is confident that we will exceed all expectations of these new practices and looks forward to continuing to work with Cardinal Health as our radiopharmaceutical distribution partner," commented Frank DiGregorio, President and CEO of Molecular Imaging Services.

Cardinal Health, which operates the broadest radiopharmacy network in the United States, with nearly 160 radiopharmacies and 30 cyclotron-based positron emission tomography (PET) radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, will continue to distribute radiopharmaceuticals to nuclear imaging labs operated by MIS.

"As Cardinal Health continues to focus on advancing the future of molecular imaging through the expansion of our nationwide network of nuclear pharmacies, we are pleased to transition the operation of these remaining nuclear imaging labs to MIS," said Michael Guastella, vice president of Nuclear Pharmacy Services for Cardinal Health. "MIS is well positioned to provide the equipment, expert staff and ongoing lab support that our cardiology customers need to offer convenient, in-office diagnostic imaging services to their patients."
