Equiom Trust Company Limited, one of the Isle of Man's leading trust and corporate service providers, is expanding its international network by creating an operational base in Nicosia, Cyprus. This move enables the company to add another important component to its burgeoning international corporate and fiduciary services.

Announcing the company's latest expansion, Equiom's managing director Sheila Dean said: "Equiom's reputation is built upon an absolute commitment to client service and upon creating innovative solutions to a wide variety of financial challenges. This addition of Cyprus to our operational network will ensure that our ability to provide clients with peerless professional service is extended to an ever wider market and that our service offering is considerably enhanced."

Since becoming a member of the EU in 2004, Cyprus has acquired an enviable reputation as an influential centre for tax planning and has the EU's lowest corporate tax rate of 10%. During the intervening five years, the country has signed an impressive number of double taxation agreements which have succeeded in establishing it at the forefront of cross-border planning for international organisations and high net worth individuals. Equiom's decision to establish itself in Nicosia will enable its clients to take advantage of Cyprus's attractive tax regime.

"As our recent opening in Jersey proved, we pride ourselves upon the level and speed of our responsiveness to client demand", added Mrs Dean. "After listening to our clients and intermediaries, and evaluating their growing interest in the benefits to be gained from Cyprus, the decision to establish ourselves in Nicosia was a logical step in Equiom's development. We are very excited about our future plans for the business and we are looking forward to enhancing our presence internationally whilst also maintaining our policy of strong growth from here in the Isle of Man".
