LateRooms.com can reveal those staying in hotels in Rome this autumn and winter will certainly find no shortage of exciting and entertaining events taking place in and around the city.

One highlight of the Italian capital's social calendar is the annual V-International Accordion Festival.

Taking place on November 21st at Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica, the event is a must for music lovers and attracts participants from across the globe.

The festival is now in its third year and aims to promote the accordion and improve the image of the instrument, which is sometimes considered to be old-fashioned and rarely used in modern music.

Performers battle it out in several categories, including senior soloist and junior soloist, with judges awarding marks based on their skill and interpretation of the music.

Organisers are keen to see entertainers push the boundaries of accordion playing and be as creative as possible with their instrument.

As well as the V-International Accordion Festival, Rome is due to host several other musical events this year, including the Festival of Sacred Music.

Commencing on November 18th, the five-day event aims to bring together architecture and classical music on offer in Rome, with concerts being held at various basilicas around the Italian capital.
