At Harbor Presbyterian Church people can expect to meet friendly people in an atmosphere that is casual and joyfully reverent. Sunday services are 75 minutes in length and have a contemporary feel while maintaining historic elements. Childcare and children's programs are provided from nursery through sixth grade during the service. The central message of Harbor's service is the heart of Christianity: the gospel of Jesus Christ. This message is communicated in a manner that is Biblical and relevant, thought provoking yet clear, uplifting and real.

Pastor Russ Kapusinski, in response to what makes Harbor Presbyterian unique said, "we're a church that majors in the gospel of Jesus Christ that seeks to be both historic and progressive. 21st century people live in a transient age and culture, especially in Southern California; the historic message of Christianity and the community it produces has an incredible ability to establish the roots that our humanity craves. Harbor is progressive because we're a church with a mission. We're here to serve the Chula Vista Community and we want that to be more than just a motto on our letterhead.'

Harbor Presbyterian Church in Chula Vista is the fourth congregation of a church planting movement that started in the heart of downtown San Diego in 1999. Russ Kapusinski, Pastor of Harbor Chula Vista, moved to Chula Vista with his family in the fall of 2003 after serving as a pastor in Orlando, Florida for eight years. Russ and his wife Diane met in San Diego in 1991 while Russ was serving as a youth pastor in Poway, California. Russ and Diane have two sons and love being back in Southern California.

In order to achieve this vision Harbor is a multi-cultural, multi-congregational and a multi-site church. Harbor Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and traces its historic moorings through the Reformation of the 16th century back to the 1st century apostolic church.
