Getting Cozy at c/o The Maidstone

October 22, 2009 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
This autumn the Long Island's east end is falling for c/o The Maidstone's Living Room. Diners and travelers are escaping to the Hamptons to enjoy the season's harvest bounty and bathe in the golden light. Amongst local food enthusiasts, the hotel's Cozy Lounge has become the new preferred hearth for intimate gatherings and this fall Proud Owner Jenny Ljungberg will be inviting guests to share a classic afternoon tea.

Weekend leisure moments will be enhanced by the Eloise inspired full tea served in the hotel's Cozy Lounge. Tea enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the traditional assortment of tea sandwiches and sweet delicacies created by pasty chef Laura Donnelly and delivered with the hotel's signature homey Swedish twists like lingonberry and cloudberry jams as well as Swedish delicacies like raspberry delights and miniature cinnamon buns. According to Ljungberg "Afternoon tea is a hallmark of all our c/o hotels. We're thrilled to be able to offer this luxurious bonding ritual as a part of our East Hampton hotel's experiences." Furthering the hotel's commitment to local purveyors, Ljungberg partners with tea aficionado, Tathiana Teixeira, owner of Southampton's Plain-T who explains that "All our customers enjoy the ultimate tea experience, one that blends the traditional ideals of friendship and mysticism with a modern sensibility" The full afternoon tea service will be available for $25 ($38 with champagne) from 2-5pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and can be enjoyed either by the hotel's roaring fire or in its windowed Cozy Lounge.

Recently purchased by Sweden's c/o Hotels and with 19 newly renovated rooms, c/o The Maidstone hotel is tailored to people who appreciate sophisticated design with great food and wine. The hotel's restaurant, The Living Room, and its Cozy Lounge have become standard bearers for the slow food movement enhanced by one of the East End's more substantial wine cellars.
