Raising a toast to the most successful, inspirational and desired men in India, STAR World presents GQ Men of the Year Awards 2009…

The awards function honouring prominent figures from different walks of life will air on 11th October at 8pm only on Star World! This festive season, STAR World is all set to make all women go weak in their knees! Gear up for a visual treat as STAR World plays host to the first 'GQ Men of the Year Awards' for India. Boasting of an attendance list of a galaxy of Bollywood Stars, the crème-de-la-crème of the society and of course, the most charming men in the country, promises to keep you glued to your television screens!

The annual GQ Men of the Year Awards in America and Britain have celebrated male success in all walks of life for over a decade now. The Awards have recognised some of the world's most powerful personalities, including Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Caine, Rio Ferdinand and Gordon Ramsay. GQ has now introduced the awards in India to honour a remarkable list of names – an elite selection of the country's best and brightest – leaders who have excelled in their fields and shown the rest of us the way ahead.

The event played host to some of the most successful personalities from different walks of life such as Omar Abdullah, Shashi Tharoor, The Bachchans, Karan Johar, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Neel Mukherjee, Aditya Puri, Shobhaa De , Vishal Bharadwaj, Katrina Kaif, and Leander Paes to name a few.

No event would be complete without the quintessential entertainment! There was a remarkable performance by electric violinists FUSE featuring Linzi Stoppard and Ben Lee, who shot to fame for their unique rock electric violin renditions. Words like "innovation", "originality" and "world class" are used all too frequently, and more to the point undeservedly. Not so with FUSE.

With their original sound and approach FUSE are the most innovative string act around today. Pioneering a new method for a traditionally classical instrument while inspiring a new breed of electric violinists. FUSE are setting the bar.

It comes as a surprise that an act with such potential and vision was approached to take part in reality TV shows, but the drive to emulate the routes their heroes took and self-instilled integrity played a key role in resisting such invitations. And it paid off Linzi Stoppard and Ben Lee has signed a groundbreaking global record deal with Edel Records, the likes of which are normally reserved for established platinum selling artists. Edel is a major player that can proudly boast legendary artists such as Prince, Deep Purple, Simple Minds and Kiss to name a few. And if that's not enough this is the first time a UK string act has signed a major deal to a pop/rock label through "traditional" channels.

.FUSE's show stopping performance is unique, dynamic and engaging, leaving string quartets literally standing still. The FUSE duo might be half the instruments, but they have twice the WOW FACTOR performing with their state of the art custom made GOLD PLATED wireless electric violins allowing the show to move into the audience.

So the stage is set, cameras rolling and the honourable winner's names for various titles sealed safely into envelopes! STAY Home this Sunday at 8pm to witness the most vivacious, the most glittering and the most prestigious award ceremony of the season, GQ Men of the Year Awards exclusively on Star World.
