LateRooms.com can announce that when the festivities of Christmas are over the next thing to look forward to is New Year and what better way to welcome in 2010 than enjoying a parade in the English capital?

On January 1st, the streets of London will come alive with the sounds of more than 10,000 performers from 20 countries across the globe singing and dancing in celebration.

People staying in hotels in London will surely be in for a treat, as the theme of the New Year Parade is Let Us Entertain You and it seems that everyone is keen to grab a slice of the action as 25 of the city's boroughs will be represented.

Robert Bone, executive director of the spectacle, said: "With so many boroughs on board - and lots of overseas participants planning to make the trip - there will be no better way to start 2010."

Next year's parade will follow a new route and the procession will kick off at midday at The Ritz hotel.

Participants will then travel to Piccadilly Circus, down Lower Regent Street, Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall, before concluding outside Big Ben in Parliament Square, the nearest tube station to which is Westminster Tube.

Dancers, cheerleaders, musicians and acrobats will take to the streets and anyone hoping to enjoy the parade may want to get down there early, as over half a million people are expected to descend upon the route.
