The401kStore.com Redesigns Website

September 18, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
SAINT LOUIS, Missouri - The401kStore.com unveiled its new website today. The main purpose for the redesign was to facilitate better usability. The new clean look which incorporates the blue tones of the company's logo was added throughout the site. This look was also added to the participant account access interface to retain the same smooth look and feel.

One of the exciting highlights, in this update, is the virtual tour of the The401kStore.com's participant statements. This tour runs in Macromedia Flash and offers plan participants a visual educational experience of the content contained in their quarterly statements.

The site employs cutting technology. Scripted in standards compliant XHTML 1.0 touting a liquid layout which automatically adjust itself to different screen sizes and resolution settings. While the site content is displayed with the latest web technology, for older web browsers, it should degrade gracefully keeping its main features accessible. A new integrated full content site search engine was implemented with Apache Lucene. PDF content when added to the site is now archived with thumbnails and an auto generated excerpt to ease navigation.

The company is very proud of its technological edge and credits their full-time programmer and web designer, Jay Tuley, who joined the firm last year after graduating from the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana). The company has indicated that these are just the first steps to ensure their technological leadership.
