LateRooms.com can announce that anyone booked into Zaragoza hotels at the start of January could be in for a treat.

Spain celebrates Epiphany day on January 6th to mark the end of the advent period.

With parades and events taking place across the south European country, it's one event that is not to be missed.

The highlight of the celebration is the Three Kings Parade, which will wind its way through the city centre, usually the night before Epiphany Day.

According to tradition, local children leave their shoes out overnight filled with grain for the kings' horses and are rewarded in the morning when they find them filled with sweets instead.

Adults can also sample sweet treats, with the local delicacy Roscon - a sweet, donut-shaped bread - forming an important part of the celebrations.

Similar to charms in Christmas puddings, there is a toy in each Roscon and the person who finds it will have good luck for the entire year, about.com reported.

"The Three Kings Parade is likely to be popular," said Jess Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms. "LateRooms strongly recommends people considering attending to book hoteles en Zaragoza as soon as possible."

Historically, the parade symbolises the day when the three wise men first visited baby Jesus in Bethlehem.
