3DVU and GeoContent Announce Strategic Relationship

Raanana, Israel and Magdeburg, Germany, Sep. 9, 2005 — 3DVU Ltd. and GeoContent GmbH, today announced a strategic relationship designed to advance the usage of high resolution imagery of Germany for perspective 3D mapping and navigation on any digital device, anywhere.

About GeoContent
GeoContent is an innovative company located in Magdeburg, Germany. GeoContent is dedicated to provide high-level data for any content business which mainly deals with spatial information.
For this purpose, GeoContent initiated the project „digital Germany“. Main aim is to set up a homogeneous and actual geodata set for the whole area of Germany. Core product is a seamless aerial orthophoto in colour, which is flown in summer months at a nominal scale of 1:22.000. This is used as a base layer for additional data such as terrain models, 3D city models and geocoded address points.

The project is performed in two phases: Phase I is designed to build up the data set for the first time with an actual coverage of >90% (finishing by the end of 2005). In phase II the data will be regularly updated on an annual basis, mainly in areas with significant changes.

All datasets can be accessed online through XML- or OGC-compliant webservices. If requested, data can be delivered offline on CD-ROM or DVD in different file formats and projections.
