Building on the momentum of 1.3 million unique website visitors in 2009, Consumer Guide to Dentistry has formed an Advisory Board to provide input on content development and strategic planning.

The 12-member board - comprised of internationally recognized cosmetic dentists and key opinion leaders in the dental community - is headed by Dr. Larry Addleson of San Diego, California. Dr. Addleson has worked with Consumer Guide to Dentistry since its launch in April 2007 as Executive Editorial Advisor, helping to review content and develop article topics.

"The team members of Consumer Guide to Dentistry recognize the importance of accurate, informative and motivating content for consumers interested in dentistry and oral health," said Dr. Addleson, past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. "Having worked closely with the writers of the site since its inception, witnessing its growth and development, I believe that the formation of this Advisory Board is an important step towards making this the Internet's most comprehensive patient education resource."

Joining Dr. Addleson on the board is a select group of forward-thinking dental professionals, including:

- Dr. Gary Alex, Huntington, New York
- Dr. Joel Berg, Seattle, Washington
- Dr. Thomas Dudney, Birmingham, Alabama
- Dr. Mahnaz Fatahzadeh, Newark, New Jersey
- Dr. Donald Jayne, Seattle, Washington
- Dr. Lynn Jones, Bellevue, Washington
- Dr. Les Latner, Los Angeles, California
- Dr. Peter Nordland, San Diego, California
- Dr. John Nosti, Mays Landing, New Jersey
- Dr. Rebecca Pitts, Lake Mary, Florida
- Fern Ingber, M.Ed., President & CEO, National Children's Oral Health Foundation

Board members will work closely with the editorial team of Consumer Guide to Dentistry to develop editorial ideas, review articles and provide input regarding site direction. With specialties covering a broad range of oral health topics that include aesthetics, reconstruction, prevention and oral disease, consumers can be assured of finding the most up-to-date, comprehensive, leading-edge information online.

"We are thrilled to be working with some of the dental industry's top professionals," said Allison DiMatteo, managing editor of Consumer Guide to Dentistry. "The collective experience of our board will help us to ensure the quality and accuracy of the content and to make Consumer Guide to Dentistry the premier online destination for dental information."
