LateRooms.com can announce that for film lovers, Cannes may be the first place that springs to mind if they are keen to book a holiday and enjoy a few movies on their break.

However, if they book hotels in Prague next year there is one event that could offer something a little different to the usual Hollywood blockbusters that grace cinema screens.

The One World Film Festival is based around documentary film-making and encourages people from across the planet to sit back, relax and enjoy some inspirational pieces of cinema at one of the many screenings.

Most of the action takes place at Lucerna Cinema between March 10th and 18th in Prague. The event then hits the road and takes in 29 towns and cities throughout the Czech Republic, including Brno, Mikulov, Olomouc, Ostrava, Radhostem and Tanvald.

The films are based around a range of current affairs and topics which organisers hope will "expose abuses, encourage dignity, inspire solidarity and foster mutual understanding".

This means that those deciding to visit the festival could leave with some thought-provoking pieces of film-making stuck in their mind and feel like they have really gained something from the experience.

Lucerna Cinema is the oldest permanently-operating theatre of its kind in Europe and was established nearly 100 years ago.
