New "30 Days to Grace" Yoga CD Creates "Mindful" New Year's Resolutions

The CD offers a 30-minute guided series of deep breathing, yoga poses, meditation, and journaling around an intention – or resolution – chosen by the listener to harness the power of mindfulness toward creating real life changes.
"It's amazing what you can accomplish in a month when you simply begin each day with consciousness of where you want to end up," says Sieg, who originally came up with the daily practice for her own use and then was convinced by friends to try it with a focus group. "I got such great feedback from the focus group, who were really able to become 'unstuck' around some tough issues like weight, relationships and finances, that I decided to create a CD that anyone can use."
Sieg credits "the power of mindfulness" for the ability to create life changes quickly. "Dr. Andrew Weil recently posted on his blog the results of a study that showed it was mindfulness – not just stretches and poses – that helped people lose weight with yoga. I think we underestimate how much we can do just by keeping ourselves conscious," says Sieg. Her 30 Days to Grace CD helps listeners create an intention that's especially meaningful to them before they embark on the 30-day practice. "Honestly, the creation of a meaningful intention and the daily commitment of the practice are the two most important tools," she adds.
The 30 Days to Grace CD is available online for $20. Those who want to kick-start their 30 days with a live program led by Diane Sieg have a choice of three January programs scheduled in the Denver area, where Sieg is based, for $30, which includes a take-home copy of the CD. Additional live programs will be listed as they are requested and scheduled.
