LateRooms.com can announce that throughout February and March anyone who is staying in accommodation in Salamanca may hear Jazz music as they wander the city's streets.

Every year, Salamanca hosts a Jazz Festival, when various bars around the region allow a range of musicians to take to the stage.

Organised by the Jazz Musician's and Friends Association of Salamanca (Amajazz), it promises to be a spectacular event for anyone with a love of the blues.

About Salamanca explains that each participating band will usually play three gigs on consecutive nights because the festival is so popular.

In addition to the schedule of concerts across the city, there will also be a programme of lectures from experts in the genre, which originated in the US in the early 20th century.

Previous speakers have included Juan Claudio Cifuentes, the website reports.

Tickets can be obtained from individual venues and concerts often run well into the evening.

Perico Sanbeat, Carles Benavent and Joaquin Chacon are among the performers who have graced the stages in Salamanca in past years and treated residents and visitors to some of their jazz music.

If you're heading to the Salamanca Jazz Festival this year, we strongly advise that you book your hoteles en Salamanca as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
