LateRooms.com can announce that works by Austrian artist Maria Lassnig will be showcased at the Kunstbau museum in Munich from February 27th.

The exhibition is set to display a wide-ranging collection of her pieces to mark her 90th birthday.

People staying in Munich hotels may want to wander around the gallery and take in the paintings, which will largely represent works produced in the later years of her career.

Contemporary art fans will be in for a treat as some new paintings from Lassnig that have never been on public display will be among those hanging in the Kunstbau.

Maria Lassnig's paintings focus on the human body, sometimes using bright colours to accentuate specific features.

In 2008, an exhibition of her work was displayed in London. The Guardian commented that critics consider her most recent work "to be among her most fascinating".

The Kunstbau opened in 1994 and is described by its official website as a contemporary space designed by architect Uwe Kiessler.

It is open from 10:00 (local time) to 18:00 Tuesday to Sunday and entry to the gallery costs €5 (£4.36) for a day pass.

Commenting on the Maria Lassnig exhibition, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to the exhibition of Lassnig's work and who need hotels München to book early to avoid disappointment."
