Bangor, ME. – OpenCube developers release new COMET coding technique. COMET (CSS / RSS Oriented Media Exchange Technology) was designed to clean web pages of out-dated all-JavaScript DHTML menus and presentation effects. COMET, a cousin to AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), is a lighter and leaner coding method designed specifically for web page effects.

A new COMET component suite which includes a popular drop down menu and other presentation effects is available as a stand alone product from OpenCube. Web developers can take immediate advantage of smaller footprints, cleaner code, and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) reading capabilities, as the technologies used by COMET are already available in all major browsers.

Based on the web’s simple principles, COMET uniquely combines several common languages into one robust, extensible standard. This pure formula for effect based design will rapidly create a cleaner overall web experience for users and developers.
