LateRooms.com can reveal that the fun of St Matthew's Fair could prove to be a big draw to people staying in Prague hotels next month.

Fairground rides and attractions will appear in the Czech capital from February 27th, with a packed programme of events that runs until April 18th.

More than 130 rides will be on offer to those who attend, with all the classics such as bumper cars and swing-sets alongside attractions for modern thrill-seekers.

Shooting galleries and other games will also be asking passers by to take aim and try to win the usual fluffy toys and customary goldfish.

One of the traditional fixtures at the fete is the Loch Ness, a large carousel made in the form of the legendary Scottish beast, while a rollercoaster that follows a track over water is another favourite among crowds.

Held at the Prague Exhibition Grounds, it is easily accessible to visitors and locals by several of the tramlines in Prague's public transport network.

It is easy to make a day of it, with plenty of tempting food and drink stalls to offer sustenance to the crowds of people who flock to the event each year.

A general admission fee of 25 Czech koruny (83 pence) must be paid to gain entry and rides within the complex range in price from 20 to 200 Czech koruny.

It opens from 10:00 (local time) until 22:00 on weekends and between 14:00 and 19:00 Tuesday to Friday.
