AsiaRooms.com divulges people from all over New Zealand will soon be heading to Auckland for the country's biggest horse racing festival.

Auckland Cup Week consists of three days of thoroughbred racing on March 6th, 10th and 13th at Ellerslie Racecourse.

Described by the organisers as "New Zealand's largest and most exclusive party", the event also attracts its fair share of international visitors, with many people staying in Auckland hotels during the festival.

As well as the racing action, Auckland Cup Week is renowned for its glamorous race course fashions and luxury hospitality events.

People attending the races are advised to dress to impress, particularly if they fancy winning a competition.

Stylish race-goers can enter three fashion contests, with the Stella Artois Cup Couture being awarded to the best-dressed couple on March 10th, which is the Stella Artois Auckland Cup Day.

General admission to the race course on this day is priced at NZ$20 (£8.80), while people who wish to buy a ticket for the Ascot Stand will be charged NZ$50.

The final day of Auckland Cup Week (March 13th) is SkyCity Diamond Day, also known as Ladies' Day.

Key races at this event include the Group One Diamond Stakes and the Mr Tiz Trophy.
