Fern Ingber, MEd, Joel Berg, DDS, and Mahnaz Fatahzadeh, DMD, Appointed to Advisory Board of Consumer Guide to Dentistry

Fern Ingber, MEd, Joel Berg, DDS, and Mahnaz Fatahzadeh, DMD, have been appointed to the Advisory Board of Consumer Guide to Dentistry, a leading provider of online education about dentistry and oral health.

Ms. Ingber, of Charlotte, N.C., is the founding president and CEO of National Children's Oral Health Foundation: America's Toothfairy®, the only independent national non-profit children's health organization exclusively focused on supporting direct delivery of comprehensive oral health services to break the cycle of preventable pediatric dental disease. Previously, Ms. Ingber served as founding general manager of the National Marrow Donor Center and as president and CEO of the Cancer Treatment Research Foundation.

Dr. Berg, of Seattle, Wash., is a board-certified pediatric dentist, as well as Professor and Lloyd and Kay Chapman Chair for Oral Health at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He also has served as president of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation. Dr. Berg has authored numerous manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters covering oral health topics ranging from restorative materials for children to biomaterials. He has reviewed various articles for Consumer Guide to Dentistry, including those on pediatric dentistry, oral health and pregnancy, teething, and tooth decay.

Dr. Fatahzadeh, of Newark, N.J., earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of British Columbia. After practicing general dentistry for a number of years, she completed an oral medicine fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), where she now holds a faculty appointment as an associate professor. Dr. Fatahzadeh is a past chair of the Oral Cancer Consortium and the director of oral cancer screenings at the UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School. She has reviewed various articles for Consumer Guide to Dentistry, including those on oral cancer, oral herpes, canker sores and oral rinses.
